Retrofit Conversion Kits for Jib Cranes

What is the point of retrofitting the conversion kit? Retrofit conversion kits-better known as retrofit boom drives-are used to convert existing manual rotating boom cranes into motorized systems. The motorization of the cantilever crane can provide the power rotation of the boom, which is ideal for lifting heavy objects. For some applications, especially workers who use cranes in busy or dangerous factories, the power rotation of the boom is also essential. In these situations, manually rotating the forearm may be unsafe, impractical, and inefficient. If your manufacturing business continues to grow, or you are concerned about the safety of employees who need to manually rotate the forearm, then retrofitting the forearm drive is the best choice. Most bridge crane manufacturers produce and sell electric jib cranes as standard systems in their product lines. The electric forearm can be used in stand-alone systems, wall-mounted and wall-mounted systems, and even mast-type systems, while the modified forearm drive is only suitable for stand-alone systems.

However, for facilities that have purchased manual free-standing cantilever cranes, it is much cheaper to retrofit the cantilever drive than to purchase a brand new electric system. The cantilever drive is very simple and can convert your existing crane into an electric system. So what is the problem? There really isn't one. The universal modified cantilever drive is suitable for any free-standing cantilever crane with a box head. They adopt a modular design and are bolted to the back of the box-type head assembly, which can be quickly converted from a manual system to an electric system. Most cantilever drives also have high-efficiency motors and worm gear reducers. What is a worm gear reducer? Worm gear reducers have many names, depending on the industry and application they are used in. They usually consist of terms such as "gearbox" and "reducer", and they are interchangeable for power transmission and motion control applications. For example, gearboxes are used to reduce speed and increase torque. When gearboxes were first introduced to multiple industries, the term "reducer" became synonymous. That's because deceleration is an important function of the gearbox, allowing manufacturers to replace cumbersome belts and outdated pulley technology. You may have noticed that the term gear reducer is used interchangeably with gearbox and reducer. Other common terms used to describe worm gear reducer technology are terms such as "gear motor" or "gear motor".
Jib Cranes
Gear motors are the same as reducers or gear reducers, except that they provide motors directly mounted to the input. Most bridge crane manufacturers prefer to use worm gear reducers because of their flexibility, compactness, durability and longevity. Why is worm gear reducer important? Worm gear reducer is an important part of the motorization process because it provides effective gear transmission performance for various industrial applications. This special series of worm gear reducers also uses high-quality H1 food-grade synthetic lubricants, eliminating the need to change the oil during normal operation.

As mentioned above, the worm gear reducer is an important function in the design of the cantilever drive. That's because the worm gear reducer drives a set of large, thick-walled steel rollers with polyurethane treads that provide excellent durability and traction on the crane mast. The rollers maintain accurate and consistent pressure on the mast, and a spring-loaded tension adjustment mechanism is used to ensure smooth operation. The driving roller is easy to adjust to ensure constant driving force. Most cantilever drive control panels include main line contactors, reversible electromagnetic contactors, thermal overload, 110V fusing control transformers, branch circuits fused to crane motors, and solid-state "soft start" controls with adjustable time and torque-all sealed 3R enclosure in NEMA. Although the worm gear reducer is designed for indoor and outdoor applications, it is only recommended to use the improved cantilever drive for indoor applications, although some can be customized to meet your outdoor needs. Comprehensively, adding a modified jib drive to convert your existing manual jib crane to an electric system is a simple and cost-effective way to solve potential worker pay issues or safety issues. Upgrading your current system is much cheaper than buying another new jib crane that is already maneuvering, and the end result is exactly the same.
