Gantry crane working under load
One of the biggest benefits of using Yuantai gantry crane is the ability to move your gantry crane while carrying the load. Although many manufacturers strictly restrict or completely prohibit the ability of gantry cranes to move under load, all Yuantai cranes are designed to move under load. There are several advantages to using a gantry crane that can move under load.Gantry cranes can be used in facilities that do not require foundation pouring or permanent installation. They are ideal for rented facilities or potential future workflow changes because they can be easily dismantled and relocated. Unlike most permanent material handling systems, gantry cranes can also be used to move loads from indoors to outdoors or between buildings. Yuantai T-series, A-series, all-aluminum, and E-series gantry cranes can roll to every corner of the facility and easily achieve full coverage. They are also designed with height and span adjustable functions. T series cranes also have adjustable pedals and cantilever functions, which can easily move materials on uneven floors, narrow spaces or low gaps. Casters Every Yuantai gantry crane is equipped with casters to enable the crane to move under load.
All Yuantai gantry cranes can be moved manually when carrying goods. Depending on the capacity of the crane and the casters used, some goods can only be carried by one person. Most Yuantai gantry cranes are equipped with standard Moldon polyurethane steel core casters. These standard casters can provide smooth running and low rolling resistance on smooth concrete surfaces. Polyurethane casters allow users to move the loaded Yuantai gantry crane with a force of approximately 5% of the maximum rated capacity of the system.
Nylacron™ casters are specially designed for Yuantai gantry cranes and are an excellent choice for large-capacity cranes under manually moving loads. It can replace the standard polyurethane casters of Yuantai gantry crane, and its rolling resistance is even lower than that of polyurethane. Nylacron casters allow the user to move the gantry crane with a force less than 1% of the system's maximum rated capacity. Another option for Yuantai aluminum gantry cranes is to use pneumatic tires. Pneumatic tires are ideal for outdoor applications because they are easier to move on soft or uneven terrain, such as roofs or grass surfaces. The softer rubber surface allows pneumatic tires to drive on uneven terrain, and produces greater rolling resistance than polyurethane, but users can still use about 15-20% of the system's maximum rated capacity to move the gantry crane with load.
V-groove casters can be used in conjunction with a dedicated V-groove track to make the gantry crane move linearly along a fixed path. Rotation lock casters can also be locked to allow the gantry crane to travel in a straight line, or unlocked to allow the crane to rotate. The casters can also be equipped with wheel brakes to prevent your gantry crane from moving when you don't want it. All Yuantai gantry cranes can use any type of casters to move under load. If you are not sure which caster is best for your application, check out the blog on choosing the right caster. Electricity Most Yuantai gantry cranes allow manual movement under load, but some high-volume applications require electric movement. When you need an electric gantry crane, Yuantai PF series gantry crane is your best choice. The standard height of the PF series gantry crane can reach 35 feet, the standard span can reach 40 feet, and the lifting capacity can reach 15 tons.
When long-distance driving requires long runways, multiple foundations and supports, the PF series has a higher load-bearing capacity and a greater height and span, making it a cost-effective alternative to large bridge cranes. Electric gantry cranes can use V-groove crawler drive, guide angle drive, crane crawler drive or trackless drive to travel in a straight line along a fixed path. Unlike permanently installed cranes, if the gantry crane needs to be relocated, these options can be easily moved and installed in different locations.
Safety Be extremely careful when moving the gantry crane under load. Place the load as close to the floor as possible and place the load in the center of the I-beam. Promote the gantry crane; do not push heavy objects, and do not use forklifts or other vehicles to push or pull the gantry crane. Do not let the load swing or roll on the support leg. Ensure that the floor is clean, level, smooth and free of obstructions.
Other advantages: The ability of Yuantai gantry cranes to move under load allows them to have a greater range of motion than fixed gantry cranes or permanent installation systems. Because they can also be moved throughout the facility, they are more flexible than permanent systems and provide safer and more efficient material handling than other flexible solutions such as forklifts. Since gantry cranes do not need to pour the foundation, they can provide a wide range of motion in locations where permanent material handling structures cannot be used, such as roof applications.
Yuantai gantry cranes have a lifting capacity of 250 pounds to 15 tons and can move under load, providing flexible, economical and effective material handling solutions for many applications.
