Single Girder Overhead Crane Monthly Inspection & Requirement

Monthly inspection & requirement table for your reference to ensure your single girder hoist crane safety in terms of  whole crane performance,crane traveling track, main girder and end carriage,motor, brake, reducer, drum device, wire rope, hook and pulley, wheel , drive shaft and coupling, sign plate, power source device,current collector, wiring, pendant control, lifting limiter switch, etc.

Monthly inspection items and contents such as the provision of table  for various types of hoist crane may not suit all, we can use the specific structures, performance characteristics and applicable scope to choose, inspect ,maintain and repair.

the whole crane performance

Machine noise testing

 Use the sound level meter to test the lifting and falling operation noise, the sound level meter equal to the stethophone, which can tell whether there is abnormality through the noise.

lifting abnormity inspection with full load

  See if the girder or hoist has  abnormal vibration when in full load lifting, and listen if all structures has abnormal sound, and if possible, touch the gear box and motor, to see if there is abnormal fever, then analyses the reasons and exclude the anomalies.

full load drop in check

Suspend during the full load, to see if the decline in volume is too big, if so, adjust the hoisting brake until the brake is normal.

check for the hoist trolley running

Observe if the gourd run car has any difficulty in climbing, running in the transverse skid, dangling, gnaw rail wheel, even  the flange climb. If there has check whether the girder rigidity is poor, the rail surface oil is dirty, or the running precision manufacturing and the assembly car is poor and so on.

Crane air brake test

Check whether there is obvious sync phenomenon during running and braking, if there is , adjust the cart running brake clearance, it’s better done by the same person, for the same feel.

Check in crane operation

Check whether there is abnormal in the operation of the crane in sinusoidal, twist, lateral sliding, skewed, wandering, gnaw rail, make records and look for reason.

Check whether  brake acts flexible, and sliding distance is too large due to brake failure

check four wheels of crane whether there is phenomenon like hovering and wether there is only three legs.

insulation performance of complete machine inspection


check main circuit and control circuit separately with 500V megohmmeter. Insulated resistor at room temperature should be more than 1.0MΩin control circuit.

Inspection of the surface appearance quality.

Check whether there are rust ,painting removal and other damages on the surface of the crane.

crane traveling track

Inspection of the operation scope.

Check whether there is any obstacles during the whole traveling range of crane, whether clearance among crane and side and top of civil construction is too small, whether there is any dangerous that contact with lights, wiring tubes and other things, whether crane is too close to bare copper.

Check whether travel stop-gear has deformation or damage, whether joint bolt is tight and whether the welding line has slight crackle.

Rail deformation inspection

Check whether there is abnormal deformation for the whole rail, which exceed the requirements of installation technology.

Check seaming of rail whether there is deformation, whether fixed bolts have been loosened, rail has moved side and tie plate has been loosened.

Check whether thread and end of flange of I-steel rail has severe wear and tear, flaking or deformation.

           Check whether there are crackles of welding line of main girder and end carriage.

Check whether thread and end of flange of I-steel rail has severe wear and tear and whether flange has plastic deformation.

Check whether bolts have been loosened when main girder and end carriage adopt bolts to connect.

Check whether there is abnormal deformation, whether joint bolts have been loosened and sealing has crackles.

Check whether cars on the main girder running stop occur deformation, damage, loss risk, if there’s any loose for connection bolts; if there is a crack of weld.

Check the buffer on the main and side beam

Joint bolts of knocking protection buffer that installs on stop-gear of main girder and end of end carriage should not has been loosened and crackles of buffer are not allowed.

Motor heat checking

Check whether the motor has heating phenomenon. If there is such phenomenon, analyze the reason as that it is overloading, the voltage is too low or to brake too often and so on.

Motor abnormality inspection

The start of motor should not be too grudging. Too noisy and abnormal sounds are forbidden. If there are above phenomena, analyze the reason as that it is overloading, the voltage is too low and so on.

For cone type motor, check worn condition of cone type brake ring and drive fan wheel axially with hand to find whether the running distance is too large. Check the running distance of the main conic motor axis to 1.5mm or it will be replaced. For plane brake or tile brake, the worn proportions amounting to 50% of original thickness should be replaced.

Check lifting brake whether there is unreliable brake or sliding distance is too large, if exists above phenomena, adjust the performance of brake.

Exceptional checking

Check each cone type brake whether the nuts has been loosened, each hinge part of linkage mechanism of electromagnetic brake whether there are severe worn, whether spring is loose. When brake, there is scream, check whether there are defects like relative friction between brake ring and brake piece or bad contact, whether spring is deformation.

Check whether gear drive sound is abnormal and analyze the reasons that lie in bad lubrication or severe wear and so on.

Check whether each reducer connection and fixed bolts has been loosened and whether there is a phenomenon. Check whether lifting reducer box has crackles caused by hook deflection. (or by lifting limiter failure)

Check shell of drum whether there is damage.(due to lifting limiter failure to cause the off-pulley of hook.)

Check whether the wire rope has breach and whether the steel wire rope can successfully be ejected from rope guide when empty hook is descending.

Check whether the plywood and joint bolts of drum and joint bolts of rope guide have bee loosened and whether the slipper of rope guide moves successfully.

check steel wire rope whether there is phenomenon like broken wires. When the number of broken wires are more than 10% of total numbers of steel wires, the steel wire rope should be rejected.

the diameter reduction after wire rope worn should not exceed 7% of nominal diameter, or the wire rope should be rejected.

steel wire rope distorted or twisted because of lifting slant should be rejected.

surface of steel wire rope should not have tarnishing phenomenon and should be covered with lubricant oil but not too much dirt.

Observe whether wire rope has been twisted(especially more than four wire rope), because the
steel wire-rope has not been slackened when binding the rope.

Check critical area and safety circulation of steel wire rope frequently such as loosened dangerous of each fixed
part of steel wire -rope, leaking of oil of contact site and so on.

Crack checking

There should be no harmful crackles of hook, block or shell of block.

Check whether the joint bolts of Cab have been loosened
and welding line have crackles.

Check whether aeration, illumination or warming is reasonable and Cab shakes severely.

requirement and whether there is relevant safety protection measure.

The unusual wear and tear of block of current collector, pins or bridle ring is forbidden.

Joint bolts of current collector and cable should not be
loosened and insulation of current collector should be fixed safely and reliably.

Block of current collector should turn flexibly and
smoothly. Inject lubricant oil if there is fricative sound or it turns difficulty.

Spring of current collector inspection

Spring of current collector should not lack bounce because of rusting or fatiguing.

wiring surface inspection

Built-in wiring is wired from collector to motor and each electrics. wiring includes rubber cable and electrical wire, outer damage is forbidden.

                   All joint bolts should be tight.

contact and slug have abnormal wear and tear and the end surface of slug is smooth and clean.

check whether each wiring fixed bolt is loosened.

The act should be flexible and reliable and contact should be tight without block and adhesion.

Appearance inspection

Button mark should be obvious and there is no damage out of the pendant switch.

should not have damage and there should not have trouble like broken wire.

Check whether the lifting position -limiter act flexibly, safely and reliably.

contact point inspection

Check whether the contact of switch has damages or worn condition. When damage is very severe, replace it on time.

Wiring fixed state inspection

Check whether the wiring fixed joint bolts has been loosen.

Spacing position
inspection

Lifting position-limiter switch can stop action immediately when hook block group ascend to the limited position. The distance from highest position of hook block group to
lowest position of winding drum should be more than 150MM.
