The QDY series double girder ladle overhead crane is a type of specially designed overhead crane for hot ladle handling, with capacity from 5 ton to 74 ton. And the span range is from 10.5m to 31.5m, and has a temperature range of -20°C to +60°C.
The QDY type overhead ladle crane is designed for transporting, pouring, and charging hot metal during the smelting of liquid metal, among other things.

Because of the high risk of a ladle crane, its design incorporates special safety features to ensure the crane system's efficiency and safety. Ladle cranes have the following characteristics:
- On the lifting mechanism, install two groups of independent action brakes.
- Install a lower limiter, a heavy hammer, and a rotary lifting and limiting device when the crane's hoisting height exceeds 20m.
- Stop device for overspeed protection.
- Fault protection devices, such as positive and negative contactors, are installed to prevent danger in the event of an electrical power outage.
- An insulating layer is installed at the bottom of main girders to prevent molten steel thermal radiation and ensure main girders have a long service life.
- The motor protection grade is IP54, and the insulation grade is H when using specially designed metallurgical motors.
