European style electric wire rope hoist
The advanced electric wire rope hoists are developed and manufactured in accordance with ISO, GB, FEM & DIN, standards. The overhead cranes, gantry cranes, and box girder jib cranes are widely equipped with the low headroom wire rope hoist. The electric wire rope hoists have a distinctive European design and have small and compact dimensions, light weights, and easy controls. It is chosen by customers from Germany and other advanced European nations as a more affordable alternative to competitors like Demag Electirc Hoist and Kone Electric Hoist.

Lifting motor
Standard lifting motors are double speed motors with disc brake, and variable frequency motors are optional. All of them are specially designed for lifting mechanism.

Double speed (variable-frequency) lifting motor is equipped with 6 (3) thermistors or sensors andmotor insulation class is F. If the temperature reaches the maximum limit of 150°C, thermistors or sensors will cut off the power supply to the motor. When the temperature drops to normal operating temperature, the motor power supply will be reconnected. The rated parameters of the lifting motor are based on the working environment temperature no higher than 40°C and the altitude Moreno higher than 1000 meters. Wwhen the environmental factors change, the motor characteristics will change too. For specific of changes, please ask the hoist manufacturer.
The lifting motor is integrated with electromagnetic disc brakes (see picture below). When the hoist stops or loses power, the electromagnetic disc brake will automatically close to maintain the load.
The protection class of standard electromagnetic disc brake is IP54, and the highest is IP65. Besides, manual release bar brake is optional.
The brake adopts dust-proof design and does not need other maintenance during normal operation.
Attention!
Regular inspection of brake clearance and brake disc thickness is absolutely necessary for safe working.

Lifting motor reducer
The lifting motor drives the drum through the reducer, whose output shaft is designed with involute spline for optimal transmission.
The reducer is designed and lubricated in strict accordance with FEM standards. Under normal conditions, no other maintenance is required during the safe use cycle. The gearbox is fully lubricated before shipped (please note the type and quantity of lubricants listed below).If you need to replace the lubricant, please first ensure the reducer shell is absolutely clean.
If the hoist is operating in extremely cold conditions, lubricant must be replaced by synthetic transmission grease in factory.

It is particularly important to shorten the maintenance interval if the gearbox works in the following adverse conditions:
- - High humidity
- - Dusty, acidic or other corrosive environment
- - Large temperature difference environment
Drum assembly
The drum is made from seamless tube, and the surface is processed into right or left-right helical rope groove according to the model of the hoist, and the two ends of the reel are welded with flanges. The drum is equipped with a rope guide. The rope guide is made of wear-resistant engineering plastic with rope groove on the inside. It was originally a cylinder and was then cut in half, and then restored to an elastic connector by a washer, nut, and spring. Attention should be paid not to screw too tight during assembly, or it will lose elasticity. The rope guide bracket moves along the connecting rod as the drum rotates to maintain its correct position on the drum.
Rope guide bracket can also trigger optional limit device.
The rope guide device can ensure that the wire rope is properly wound on the drum under normal working conditions and prevents the wire rope from sliding out of the groove.
According to different wire rope winding ways, one or two rope guides are respectively installed on the drum. The rope guide is made of engineering plastic which can minimize wear and tear on the wire rope (main stressed component).Wire rope winding of this hoist has two ways of single winding rope and double winding rope.
The assembly of fixed buckle of single winding rope is shown in the picture below.
Special attention should be paid to the direction of wire rope and rope clip assembly during installation and maintenance.
The end of the reel is provided with a rope pressing device for fixing the wire rope, and the steel wire rope press plate specifications and quantity are different according to the hoist model. According to safety regulations, when the hook is in the lowest position, it is necessary to ensure that at least two full coils of wire rope are wound around the drum.
Lifting limiter
This wire rope hoist adopts screw CAM limit switch which is installed on the side plate of the drum assembly. Screw CAM limit switch is accurate, reliable and convenient to adjust. The switch is equipped with four contacts, so that the lifting mechanism always reaches the limit position gradually at a slow speed when running to the upper and lower limit position, effectively ensuring the safety of operation.
Overload limiter
Overload limiter will prevent lifting action when the load exceeds the rated load, thus providing safety protection. Overload protection can be achieved by electronic load sensor. The following picture shows the installation of overload limiter with single rope and double rope respectively.
Attention!
Overload limiter has been checked for load rating before delivery. It shall be shielded when the overload test is done at the user's site and shall be restored after the test is finished. If there is a big difference between the set value of overload limiter and the actual condition, please contact the hoist manufacturer or qualified maintenance technician to calibrate the overload limiter again.
Trolley travelling mechanism
- The travelling mechanism consists of a squirrel cage motor and a reducer.
- The standard travelling motor is frequency conversion control type with protection class IP54 and thermistor with overheating protection.
- The motor is integrated with an electromagnetic disc brake.
- The motor is designed and manufactured in accordance with VDE0530 standard and can withstand 1.5 times rated current in 2 minutes without damaging the winding of the motor.
- The reducer of parallel shaft helical gears improves transmission efficiency and reduces operating noise. Under normal operating conditions, the lubricant of the gearbox transmission during the safe working period (SWP) does not need to be replaced.
Wire rope
Wire rope is the main stress component and wearing part of the hoist. In order to ensure safe working, operators should strictly follow the safe operation rules.
At the same time, the user should carry out regular inspection and maintenance of the wire rope.
Routine maintenance includes:
- Visually measure the condition of wire rope
- Surface oil residue
- Check for deformation and wear (especially wire ropes in contact with pulleys)
- Check for broken wires
- Check for corrosion
- Check fixed end joint
- For cleaning and lubrication, please refer to the lubricant section in the appendix.
- For the inspection and scrap standard of steel wire rope, please refer to ISO4309:1990. The appendix provides the relevant data of the scrap standard of the commonly used lifting wire rope.
Hook assembly
Hook assembly generally consists of the following parts:
- Forged hook head
- Safety latch
- Hook beam (component)
- Hook plate
- Pulley assembly
- Hook is the main component of electric hoist under force. Attention should be paid to the daily inspection and maintenance. Generally inspection includes:
- Whether the hook head and safety latch is damaged.
- Whether the hook can rotate freely.
- The wear of pulleys.
- Whether the pulley housing rubs against the wire rope.
- Change the worn parts or add lubricant to the rotating parts based on the inspection results. Please refer to appendix for lubricant type.
Hoist electrics
The standard power supply of this wire rope hoist is 380V/50Hz, and the control power supply is 48V/50Hz which is safety control voltage.
The standard lifting speed and travelling speed are controlled by frequency conversion. The appearance of the converter is shown in the picture below.
Frequency converter is used to control the speed of hoist lifting and trolley travelling. The parameters of frequency converter have been set before delivery according to the requirements of the order.
