As one of the main supporting components of the bridge crane and gantry crane, end carriages are utilized to move the crane. Crane End Carriage Wheel
The wheel is a device used to support the crane and the load and to cause the crane to travel back and forth on the track. The material of the wheel is generally ZG430-640 cast steel.In order to improve the wear resistance and life of the wheel surface, the tread surface should be subjected to surface heat treatment, and the surface hardness is required to be HB300-350, and the quenching depth is not less than 20 mm.

Customized end carriages for Demag Crane
One of our customers from Malaysia told us that his end carriages of a Demag overhead crane have a break-down. After many years of using, the wheels on the end carriages are wear out and the motors often stop. Since it’s an old type overhead crane, there is no such wheels and motors now, but the rest part like main girder is still fine, so he decide to buy a new pair of end carriages to replace the old ones. And this type end carriage need to be customized now. When he request Demag to design a new end carriages for this crane, the price is very high, so he turned to us for help.
One of our Malaysian customers informed us that the end carriages of his Demag overhead crane had failed. The wheels on the end carriages wear out after many years of use, and the motors frequently fail. Because it is an old type overhead crane, there are no such wheels and motors now, but the rest of the structure, such as the main girder, is still in good condition, so he decides to purchase a new pair of end carriages to replace the old ones. - There may be a gap between the steel plates at the location of the trolley’s wheel installation in some dusty, humid, or corrosive gas operating environments.
- If maintenance is not performed, time will cause corrosion between the splints. Finally, the thickness of the steel plate at this position is continuously reduced, and the wheel runs are deflected, causing the rails problem.
