• Before installing the single girder gantry cranes, the installation site should be surveyed,  the measured data should be analyzed,  and an appropriate crane installation plan or schedule should be made in order to ensure the successful installation of the  gantry crane within the timetable .
• Make the needed materials and installation equipment ready. The requried materials are including  wrenches, pry bars, vises, etc.,  and the  equipment required may involving the  welding machines, gas cutting tools, etc, etc.

Main Procetures of Gantry Crane Installation

1. Installation of gantry crane running track

Install and lay the corresponding type of rails according to the tonnage span size requirements of the equipment design.

• The unevenness of the front and side is ≤1/1500, and the total length is ≤2mm;
• The verticality of the rail to the ground is less than 1mm, and the slope of the rail is less than 3mm;
• The position deviation between the actual centerline of the track and the design centerline of the track should be less than 3mm;
• The relative elevation difference between the two tracks on the same section is ≤10mm;
• The misalignment of the left, right and upper sides of the track joint ≤ 1mm;
• The positions of the tips of the two parallel tracks should be staggered, and the staggered distance should not be equal to the distance between the front and rear wheels of the rail mounted gantry crane;
• The joint gap should be 2~3mm; the height difference of the guide rail should be ≤2mm.
• Terminal limit devices (guide rail limiters, buffer blocks) and brake baffles should be installed at both ends of the track to prevent rail mounted gantry crane derailment accidents.

2.Gantry Outrigger assembly

Assemble the main outrigger, auxiliary outrigger, stabilizer bar, balance beam, driver's floor platform, lower wheel box, beam seat, etc., according to the design requirements, to ensure the overall design accuracy and reliability.

• Connect the main beam base with the main and auxiliary legs on the ground with bolts;
• Use stabilizer bars to connect the main beam base with the main outriggers;
• The balance beam and the outrigger are connected by a pin;
• The cart walking and the outriggers are connected on the ground with a pin shaft;
• The operating platform and the outrigger are connected as a whole with a pin.

3.Assembly of gantry crane main girder

• Connect the sections of the main girder frame with pins in the order of manufacture to form the whole main girder to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the overall design;
• If the rail mounted gantry crane design has an electric hoist device, the electric hoist should be installed in the middle of the track before the main beam is hoisted, and the position should be temporarily fixed to avoid side slip and accidents when the whole beam is hoisted.

4. Hoist trolley assembly

Assemble the wheel box, the cross arm of the crane, and the fixed pulley correctly, and ensure the gauge of the crane, and the limit deviation of the gauge is ±2mm.
